Children

The Gift of Children is going to print!

Dear friends,

Five years have passed since I started this blog.

At that point we had four children; last year we were blessed with our seventh beautiful treasure. And I know that without this blog, it wouldn’t be the same.

Time and again, I have returned to the words I wrote, to the ideas that I discovered in our tradition, to give me the strength and motivation to get through the ups and downs that make up my journey.

In the moments of doubt, the hours of chaos, and in my weakest days, I have been able to realign myself with my values through the words that I have found.

They help me to reconnect to the truth that I know deep inside: that Hashem wants me to have exactly the number of children he has blessed me with, no matter how overwhelming it may seem (to me, at times, and certainly) to others.

I remember the conclusion that society at large does not share my values and I cannot allow myself to be confused by their messages.

I am pushed to refocus on each and every child, each one as an individual that is infinitely precious – today and forever.

And I am reminded that there is a time to silence the mental bells that call me to “productivity”. Because caring for my family is enough.

They help me focus on the memories instead of the mess, and to take pride in my mommy brain which is so much more than a fuzzy blob it sometimes seems.

And more than anything, they remind me to trust the one who set this all up. To trust his natural process, to trust his plans for me and my family, and to trust that he will always provide for our needs.

And since putting up my blog, I know I’m not the only one who benefits from these words and ideas – those highlighted above plus many more.

From the mother of three little ones drowning in diapers and bottles, to the mother of ten of all ages trying to balance it all, to the mother of one with the heartbreaking struggle of secondary infertility, to the young woman still dating and unsure of her future – I have heard from them all. Of how every post provides food for thought, encouragement, and inspiration in such a central part of their lives.

Why am I sharing this now?

This week I signed a contract.

We’ll be producing a small sized paperback book perfect for these little thoughts that so many need to hear.

I’m really excited to make it happen.

We just need a little help.

The cost of this project is approximately $19,500 including the editing process, printing, shipping, distributing and marketing throughout the Jewish world.

The impact it will have is immeasurable.

We need $5,000 to get started, of which $1000 has already been raised.

Will you be a part of this?

We’d love to include you as a sponsor of the project as a merit for you or your loved ones, for $360, $1000 or whatever your special number will be.

But we also welcome a simple $10, $36 or $54 because each and every donation represents your support – which means more to us than all the money in the world.

Let us know that you are with us in this life-changing project.
